Freedom, space, not having to pay rent?. These are some of the reasons we live in the LBB. Naturally every single one of us has even more own reasons, but we definitely share these three. Another clear reason is that we think it is ridiculous how many houses and buildings just stand empty. It is terrible to see how many old (and oftentimes charming) buildings just stand empty and rot while there are long lists of people waiting for a reasonable and affordable home. We thus want to give the LBB-building a function again, and it is especially exciting since its new function is so completely different from its old one. Why shouldn´t this be possible?

So we live is this old grain-factory, the LBB! There is so much space here, and we use it for our individual and communal development. There are so many possibilities, think about it: Building your own room, realize your creative potential in organizing projects and activities and living together in this special group. This last subject is really essential to us, since we feel that living/thinking/working together we really learn lots from one another and about ourselves. But of course we don´t hang out 24/7 (well, ok, maybe sometimes) and every one of us is basically free to do whatever he/she wants to do, which brings us back to our initial point: FREEDOM.

Freedom to make loud music, freedom to host madass cool parties and make the rest of the maastrichter underground happy, freedom to cook yummy vegan food every Monday for everyone who feels like joining, freedom to build enormous objects, freedom to provide artists with ateliers, freedom to provide performers of all kind with a stage, freedom to organize exhibitions, freedom to provide space for all kinds of initiatives that are creative and that need it?

So, we want to stand up for our ideals. OUR own ideals, not the ideals of the state, or the system or the multi-nationals about what is worthy to support and go for in life,  without financial constraints or the pressure to generate profit. We don´t want to follow anyone, or anyone to follow us, we just want everybody to walk aside one another, together.
